Starting School & Admissions

Reception

The school admits children in accordance with the policy laid down by Gloucestershire Local Education Authority. The school can admit 45 children into the Reception year. If more than 45 applications are received, the LEA then decides which children should be offered places. Children are offered three full terms of education in their Reception year and most are admitted in the September following their fourth birthday. Legally, however, children do not have to be in school until the beginning of the term following their fifth birthday, so parents may defer the start of school until January or April if they wish.

As we are a Local Authority maintained school, please contact the local authority using the links below to find out more about our arrangements for admissions.
